"SHEERING, a parish in the hundred of HARLOW, county of ESSEX, 3 miles (N. E.) from Harlow, containing 439 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Middlesex, and diocese of London, rated in the king's books at £13. 13. 4., and in the patronage of the Dean and Canons of Christ Church, Oxford.
