"VANGE, a parish in the hundred of BARSTABLE, county of ESSEX, 5 miles (N. E. by B.) from Horndon on the Bill, containing 124 inhabitants. The living is a discharged rectory, in the archdeaconry of Essex, and diocese of London, rated in the king's books at £14. C. Smith, Esq. was patron in 1809. The church is dedicated to All Saints."
