BARNWOOD, a parish in the upper division of the hundred of Dudstone and King's Barton, in the county of Gloucester, 2 miles to the E. of Gloucester. The old Fosse Way and the Gloucester and Cheltenham railway cross the parish. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Gloucester and Bristol, value £195, in the gift of the dean and chapter. The church is dedicated to St. Lawrence. There is a small endowment for education. The principal seats are Barnwood Court and Barnwood House
