"DUNTISBORNE ROUSE, a parish in the hundred of Crowthorne, in the county of Gloucester, 1 mile S.E. of Duntisborne Abbotts, and 4 N.W. of Cirencester, its post town. The living is a rectory* in the diocese of Gloucester and Bristol, value £243, in the patronage of Corpus Christi College, Oxford. The church is dedicated to St. Michael, and contains an ancient font. There is a small charity of £2 per annum. In the neighbourhood are some Roman remains. Lord Bathurst is lord of the manor."
