There are two Memorials in the Parish of Mangotsfield. This one is in THE ALEC LARGE MEMORIAL GARDEN at the junction of Rodway Hill Road and Mangotsfield Road. The Memorial is a Granite Cross set on an Octagonal Plinth.The inscription, set on the obverse side of the cross reads:-

These notes are compiled from information obtained from the Commonwealth War Graves Commission and detailed research by Mr. David Blackmore of Mangotsfield.Many of the names on this memorial are also commemorated on the Roll of Honour on the north wall of St James Church nave Mangotsfield and on the Mangotsfield United Reformed Church War Memorial, Cossham Street, Mangotsfield.
Lieutenant Walter Henry Charles Cave
Son of Charles Henry and Beatrice Julia Cave of Sidbury manor, Sidmouth, Devon. Served in 1 st Battalion, Dorsetshire Regt, killed in action Ypres, Monday 15th March 1915, aged 20 years.Commemorated at Ramparts cemetery, Lille Gate, Ieper, Belgium.Lieutenant Frederick James Stone
