"ARKHOLME, a chapelry joined with that of Cawood, in the parish of Melling, hundred of Lonsdale, in the county palatine of Lancaster, 10 miles to the N.E. of Lancaster. It is situated on the western bank of the river Lune. The living is a perpetual curacy in the diocese of Manchester, value £80, in the patronage of the vicar of Melling. There are charities amounting to £14."
