"IGHTENHILL-PARK, an extra parochial place in the higher division of the hundred of Blackburn, county Lancaster. It is situated on the river Calder, and near the road from Burnley to Blackburn. The land is chiefly pasture, and the township abounds in coal and stone of excellent quality. The Duke of Buccleuch is lord of the manor."
