"LITTLE BOWLAND, a township united with Leagram, in the parish of Whalley, hundred of Blackburn, in the county palatine of Lancaster, 9 miles to the N.W. of Clitheroe. It is on the border of Yorkshire, on the banks of the river Hodder, and was part of the Forest of Bowland.
