"RIBBY-WITH-WREA, a township and chapelry in the parish of Kirkham, its post town, county Lancaster. It is a station on the Lytham branch of the Preston and Wyre railway. The village is small, and chiefly agricultural. The living is a perpetual curacy in the diocese of Manchester, value £90, in the patronage of the Vicar of Kirkham. The church was erected in 1848. There is a free school, with an endowment of £90, bequeathed by Nicholas Sharples in 1716."
