"CANON-PYON, (or Canon-Pion), a parish in the hundred of Grimsworth, in the county of Hereford, 4 miles to the S.E. of Weobly. Hereford is its post town. Hops are cultivated in the district. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Hereford, and in the patronage of the dean and chapter. The church is dedicated to St. Lawrence. It is in the early English style, and contains a fine screen and an ancient font."

"DURNDALE, (or Derndale, Upper and Lower), hamlets in the parish of Canon Pyon and hundred of Grimsdale, in the county of Hereford, 6 miles N.W. of Hereford."
