"DEWSALL, a parish in the upper division of the hundred of Wormelow, in the county of Hereford, 2¼ miles of the Tram Inn station, and 5½ S. of Hereford, its post town. The land is fertile, and from the higher grounds are fine views over the Welsh mountains. The living is a discharged vicarage* in the diocese of Hereford. The tithes have been commuted for a rent-charge of £114 4s. 6d. The church, dedicated to St. Michael, is an ancient structure containing monuments to the Pearl family."
