PRESTON WYNNE.

PRESTON WYNNE is a small village and chapelry, distant 6¼ miles from Hereford (its post town), 9 from Bromyard, and 10 from Leominster, in Broxash hundred, Hereford union, county court district, deanery, archdeaconry and bishopric; it is about half a mile west of the Hereford and Bromyard turnpike road. The chapel of the Holy Trinity (annexed to Felton) is a modern stone building, having a square tower with four pinnacles, and 1 bell; the interior consists of aisle, chancel, new stone font, and a marble monument to the memory of Mrs. Henrietta Pugh. The living is a perpetual curacy, in the gift of the Bishop of Hereford; the Rev. Henry T. Hill is the incumbent. The population in 1861 was 182; the acreage is 862. The soil is clayey and loamy. Mrs. Ford, James Farmer, Esq., John Kinnersley, Esq., and Mrs. Built, are the chief landowners. The crops are wheat, beans, hops, and apples. There is an endowment of six acres of land left by the late Mrs. Henrietta Pugh (of Great Baddow, Essex), for furnishing clothing to the poor.
