"ST. DEVEREUX, a parish in the hundred of Webtree, in the county of Hereford, 7½ miles S.W. of Hereford. It contains the hamlet of Didley. The surface is undulating, comprising about 1,095 acres of rich arable and pasture land. The tram-road from Hereford to Abergavenny passes at a short distance. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Hereford, value £186, in the patronage of E. B. Clive, Esq. The church is very ancient."

"DIDLEY, a hamlet in the parish of St. Devereux, in the hundred of Webtree, in the county of Hereford, 5½ miles S.W. of Hereford, on the Abergavenny railway."
