"SAWTRY ST ANDREW, the Sawtry parish of St Andrew contained a wood, known as Aversley Wood. The parish was inclosed by Act of Parliament in 1804. The parish was united with that of Sawtry All Saints in 1873. In 1879 both churches were demolished and a new church for both parishes was erected on the site of All Saints and dedicated to All Saints & St Andrew."
