"BOBBING, a parish in the hundred of Milton, lathe of Scray, in the county of Kent, 1 mile from Milton. The North Kent railway passes near it. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Canterbury, of the value of £96, in the patronage of the Rev. G. Simpson, vicar. The church is dedicated to St. Bartholomew. It is an ancient building, with a tower and spire, and contains a piscina, two monumental brasses (one being canopied), and tombs of the Savages and Tuftons. Titus Oates was once rector of Bobbing. There is an endowment of about £7 a year for the instruction of poor girls. The Roman way, Watling Street, passes through this parish. Bobbing Court, now dilapidated, was the old seat of the Savage family, who formerly held the manor. Bobbing Place was the seat of the Cliffords. A fair is held here annually on the 4th September."

"KEY-STREET, a hamlet in the hundred of Chatham and Gillingham, lathe of Aylesford, county Kent, 7 miles S.E. of Chatham. It is situated near the river Medway, and is a meet for the Tickham hounds."
