"GUSTON, a parish in the hundred of Bewsborough, lathe of St. Augustine, county Kent, 2 miles N. of Dover. The road from Dover to Deal passes through the parish. The land is chiefly arable, with some pasture and woodland. The living is a perpetual curacy in the diocese of Canterbury, value £66, in the patronage of the archbishop. The church, dedicated to St. Martin, is a small ancient structure of flint. The Wesleyans have a chapel, and there is a school for both sexes."
