"LITTLE CHART, a parish in the hundred of Calehill, lathe of Scray, in the county of Kent, 2 miles N. of the Pluckley station of the South-Eastern line, and 5 W. of Ashford, its post town. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Canterbury, value £298, in the patronage of the archbishop. The church, dedicated to St. Mary, is an ancient stone structure with tower. The charities amount to £9. The register commences 1682. The Roman Catholics have a chapel."
