"ST. MARY HOO, a parish in the lathe of Aylesford, county Kent, 5 miles N.E. of Rochester. The village, which is small, is wholly agricultural. The tithes have been commuted for rent-charges, the moiety of £74 13s. payable to the Dean and Chapter of Rochester, and of £602 to the rector. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Rochester, value £502, in the patronage of the rector."
