"ST. MARY, a parish in the liberty of Romney Marsh, lathe of Shepway, county Kent, 2.7 miles N. of New Romney. The village is small and wholly agricultural. The living is a rectory, value £309, in the diocese of Canterbury, in the patronage of the archbishop. The church, dedicated to St. Mary the Virgin, is a small ancient edifice."
