"STALISFIELD, a parish in the hundred of Faversham, lathe of Scray, county Kent, 7 miles S.E. of Faversham, its post town, and 3 N. of Charing. The village, which is small, is chiefly agricultural. The land is partly in common and hop-grounds. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Canterbury, value £134, in the patronage of the archbishop. The church, dedicated to St. Mary, is an ancient structure, with a tower and spire. W. Rigden, Esq., is owner of the manor."
