"KIRKMANSHULME, a hamlet in the chapelry of Newton, parish of Manchester, county Lancaster, 3 miles N.E. of Manchester, within which borough it is included."

"LONGSIGHT, an ecclesiastical district in the parish and borough of Manchester, county palatine of Lancaster, 2 miles S.W. of Manchester. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Manchester, in the patronage of trustees. It is a station on the Manchester and Stockport section of the London and North-Western railway."
