1868 - The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland

  • "RIBBLETON, a township in the parish of Preston, hundred of Amounderness, county Lancaster, 1 mile N.E. of Preston. It is a small and irregularly-built village, situated on the Longridge road, and is wholly agricultural."
