It was founded in 1771. St Mary's, Lowe House does not have a proper graveyard. There are approximately six graves at the side of the church - four are for Jesuit priests who died whilst serving at Lowe House prior to 1980, one is fairly new and is for someone who died whilst studying to be a priest, and the last is for Mrs Winifred Eccleston (nee Lowe) who donated the land for the church to the Jesuits in approximately 1793.
