Church History

The church was founded on 1/Jan/1884 and moved in 1932 into the Wesleyan Church down the street. Moved back here temporarily in 1941 when WWII destroyed new Temple and while awaiting new building. Moved to new "Temple" (on site of Wesleyan Church) in 1955. Note that "Star Barn" was part of the stabling for the old "Star Inn" (on other side of road and now a house). Recent use was as the "Press Club" or "Printing Works Club". Registration cancelled on 5/Mar/1957 and also for the "Salvation Army Junior Hall", Oak Street which was registered on 2/Jul/1908.
