Extracts from April 1st 1786

Norwich, March 29.

Monday last the Rev. Mr. Isaac Avarne was instituted to the Rectory of Halseworth with Cediston in Suffolk, on the presentation of William Plumer, Esq. Of Blakesware and Gilston Park in Hertfordshire.

On Sunday next in the afternoon, a sermon will be preached in St. George's [Tombland] Church, by the Rev. Mr. Gibson, Rector of Winterton with [East] Somerton, towards the support of the charity schools in this city.

Friday an inquisition was taken before Thomas Marks, Gent. on the body of William Hazelwood, who was found dead in his bed, at the Hog-in-Armour, in St. Andrew's. Verdict, Natural Death. - And on Monday last an inquisition was taken before the same gentleman, on the body of Susannah Gooch, who drowned herself in the mill dam:- Verdict Felo-de-se. - The body, in consequence thereof, was ordered to be buried in the King's highway.
