Notes

  • All shorthand contractions in the document have been reproduced as written. The exception is a "-" after some names indicating a "blank space" ie. "Ditto" or "Surname" was missing.
  • The abbreviations are :- "A G L" = "Agricultural Labourer", "Do" = "Ditto", "F. S." = "Female Servant", "M. S." = "Male Servant" and "Robt" = "Robert".
  • In other documents and transcriptions the following alternative spellings have been seen which appear to refer to the same people/places:-
    Ammer/Emmer/Emma, Aroon/Aaron, Benjemen/Benjamin/Benjman, Billiam/Bilham, Carline/Caroline, Fabey/Phebe?, Henery/Henry, Lanard/Leonard, Lanchester/Lankester, Lewess/Lowess/Lewis, Limmer/Linner, Lusey/Lucy, Marshell/Marshall, Pruer/Prewer/Pruce, Robeekah/Rebeckah/Rebecca, Samell/Samuel, Sophea/Sophia, Susana/Susanna.
  • There is a "Sarah LEWESS" (widow aged 61yrs - born Southwold, Suffolk) living in Roudham in the 1851 Census.
  • "Aaron PREWER" born Breccles c. 1821 appears in the 1891 Census and as "Aaron PRUER" in 1881 Census.
  • The following was in the margin after Page 1:-
    "Detached from Larling Parish Shropham Hundred Norfolk Co No of District 14"
