WICKMERE, 5 miles N. by W. of Aylsham, has in its parish 307 souls, and 975 acres of land, mostly belonging to the Earl of Orford, the lord of the manor and patron of the Church, which has a round embattled tower, and is a rectory, valued in the King's Book at £9, and consolidated with that of Wolterton.
