"LODDINGTON, a parish in the hundred of Rothwell, county Northampton, 4 miles W. of Kettering, its post town, and 13 N. of Northampton. The Midland Railway has a station at Kettering. The surface is undulating, and the soil fertile. The land is chiefly arable. The village, which is small, is wholly agricultural. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Peterborough, value £421, in the patronage of the lord chancellor. The church is a structure of the 16th century, dedicated to St. Leonard. The charities consist of £5 annually, and the rent of 10 acres of land distributed to the poor in fuel at Christmas. The Dissenters have a place of worship in common.
