"WILBY, a parish in the hundred of Hamfordshoe, county Northampton, 2 miles S.W. of Wellingborough. The village is situated on the road to Northampton, close to the river Nene, which flows through the parish. There are some quarries of limestone, and parchment and wash-leather are manufactured to a small extent. The extensive brick, tile, and lime works of the Messrs. Pratt are in this parish. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Peterborough, value £300. The church is dedicated to St. Mary or St. Michael. The charities produce about £10 per annum."
