PLOUGHLEY, a hundred in the county of Oxford, contains the parishes of Ardley, Bicester, Bletchingdon, Bucknell, Charlton-on-Otmoor, Chesterton, Cottesford, Finmere, Fringford, Fritwell, Goddington, Hampton-Gay, Hampton-Poyle, Hardwicke, Heath, Upper and Lower Heyford, Islip, Kirtlington, Launton, Lillingstone-Lovell, Middleton-Stoney, Mixbury, Newton-Purcell, Noke, Oddington, Shelswell, Somerton, Souldern, Stoke-Lyne, Tusmore, Wendlebury, Weston-on-the-Green, and parts of Stowe and Stratton-Audley, comprising an area of 59,520 acres.
