"AYSTON, a parish in the hundred of MARTINSLEY, county of RUTLAND, 1 mile (N.W. by N.) from Uppingham, containing 110 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Northampton, and diocese of Peterborough, rated in the king's books at £8. 7. 8½., and in the patronage of G. B. Bruderell, Esq.
