"OVERTON (MARKET), a parish in the hundred of ALSTOE, county of RUTLAND, 6 miles (N. by E.) from Oakham, containing 468 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Northampton, and diocese of Peterborough, rated in the king's books at £14. 11. 3., and in the patronage of John Wingfield, Esq.
