"EASTHOPE, a parish in the lower division of the hundred of Munslow, county Salop, 5 miles S. of Much Wenlock, and 81, E. of Church Stretton, its post town and railway station. The village is small, and wholly agricultural. The living is a rectory* in the diocese of Hereford, value £133, in the patronage of M. G. Benson, Esq. The church is an ancient stone structure, with wooden tower. It is dedicated to St. Peter, and contains an antique Saxon font. In the neighbourhood are the remains of a British camp.
