"ELLESMERE, (Salop) 127 cm. 144 mm. from London, gives title of Baron to the D. of Bridgewater, and has its name from a great lake or mere, noted for good fish. The Mt. is Tu. and Fairs Whit-Tu. Aug. 15, and Nov. 11."
