"HABBERLEY, a parish in the hundred of Ford, county Salop, 8 miles S.W. of Shrewsbury, its post town. The parish, which is of small extent, is watered by a rivulet and by numerous excellent springs. The soil is generally of a clayey character, but of great fertility. The village is small, and the population almost entirely agricultural. The tithes have been commuted for a rent-charge of £126. The living is a rectory* in the diocese of Hereford, value £158. The church is dedicated to St. Mary.
