"SILVINGTON, a parish in the hundred of OVERS, county of SALOP, 6 miles (N. W.) from Cleobury Mortimer, containing 38 inhabitants. The living is a discharged rectory, in the archdeaconry of Salop, and diocese of Hereford, rated in the king's books at £3. 6. 8., endowed with £400 private benefaction, and £400 royal bounty, and in the patronage of the Rev. Thomas Hill. The church is dedicated to St. Michael."
