"SUTTON MADDOCK (or SUTTON), a parish in the Shiffnal division of the hundred of Brimstry, a vicarage discharged, in the diocese of Coventry and Lichfield, the deanery of Newport, and archdeaconry of Salop. 78 houses, 417 inhabitants. 5 miles south- west by south of Shiffnal.

" BROCKTON, a very scattered and extensive township, in the parish of Sutton Maddock, and in the Shiffnal division of the hundred of Brimstrey. In this township lies Harrington, a lordship and estate belonging to Farmer Taylor, Esq., of Chicknall."
