"BURSTALL, a parish in the hundred of Samford, in the county of Suffolk, 4 miles to the W. of Ipswich. Hadleigh is its post town. It is pleasantly situated on a small stream, a branch of the river Orwell. The living is a perpetual curacy annexed to the vicarage of Bramford, in the diocese of Norwich. The church is dedicated to St. Mary."
