The Quaker graveyard by this church is because the building was formally a "Friends Meeting House".

Building was formally used by Quakers until at least the 1960's. The Methodists are said to have also used the building from the 19C. The "Methodist Chapel" registered the building for marriages on 2/Jan/1958.
