The church has/had a graveyard. This backed onto "Crown Place" - OS 25 inch map of 1902 shows it.

It was founded in 1651 and this Meeting House was built in 1668. Present church built in 1805. It closed in 2006 when the URC joined with "Beaumont Baptist Church" to form "Woodbridge Quay Church" on same site.
In 1972 the Congregational church joined with the English Presbyterian church to become the United Reformed Church. Some Congregational churches though did not take this path and became members of the Congregational Federation.
