"ANSFORD, (or Ansford), a parish in the hundred of Catsash, in the county of Somerset, within 1 mile of Castle Cary, and near the river Brue. The living is a rectory* in the diocese of Bath and Wells, value £297, in the patronage of F. Woodforde, Esq., of Almsford Park. The church is dedicated to St. Andrew."
