"CAMELY, a parish in the hundred of Chewton, in the county of Somerset, 8 miles to the N. of Wells. Bath is its post town. Here are some quarries of flagstone. The living is a rectory* in the diocese of Bath and Wells, value £256, in the patronage of J. Hippesley, Esq. The church is dedicated to St. James. The parochial charities amount to £6 a year."
