"DURLEIGH, a parish in the hundred of Andersfield, in the county of Somerset, 2 miles S.W. of Bridgwater, its post town. It is situated on a branch of the river Parret. There is no village, only a few farmhouses. The tithes have been commuted for a rent-charge of £229 13s., and the glebe contains 1½ acre. The living is a donative curacy in the diocese of Bath and Wells, value £25, in the patronage of G. R. Harding, Esq. The church is an ancient stone edifice, with a tower. There is a Sunday-school."
