"EAST CRANMORE, a parish in the hundred of Frome, in the county of Somerset, 4 miles E. of Shepton Mallet. It is situated under the Mendip hills, and contains several ancient quarries of oolitic stone, from which Wells Cathedral and Glastonbury Abbey were built.
