"ENMORE, a parish in the hundred of Andersfield, county Somerset, 4 miles S.W. of Bridgwater, its post town and railway station on the Bristol and Exeter line. The parish is well wooded, and contains several extensive orchards and gardens. The living is a rectory* in the diocese of Bath and Wells, value £183. The church is an ancient stone structure with embattled tower. It is dedicated to St. Michael. In the churchyard is an old yew-tree of large girth, and an ancient cross. The register commences in 1653. There are charities producing about £12 per annum. There is a National school for both sexes, and a Sunday-school.
