"FIDDINGTON, a parish in the hundred of Cannington, county Somerset, 2½ miles N.E. of Nether Stowey, and 6 N.W. of Bridgwater, its post town and nearest railway station on the Great Western line. The river Parret flows on the E. of the parish. The land is nearly equally divided between arable and pasture, with a considerable extent of orchard and garden. The living is a rectory in the diocese-of Bath and Wells, value £200. The church is a stone edifice dedicated to St. Martin. The register commences in 1544. The charities are small.
