"MONKTON COMBE, a parish in the hundred of Bath-Forum, in the county of Somerset, 2 miles to the S. of Bath, its post town. The inhabitants are chiefly engaged in the paper mills and in the Bath stone quarries. The living is a perpetual curacy in the diocese of Bath and Wells, and in the gift of the Vicar of South Stoke.
