"SOUTH BARROW, a parish in the hundred of Catsash, in the county of Somerset, 6 miles to the N.E. of Ilchester. Castle Carey is its post town. The living is a perpetual curacy in the diocese of Bath and Wells, value £80, in the patronage of Mrs. Toogood. The church is dedicated to St. Peter."
