"WEST CRANMORE, a parish in the hundred of Wells-Forum, in the county of Somerset, 1 mile S.W. of East Cranmore, and 3½ miles from Shepton Mallet. The living is a curacy in the diocese of Bath and Wells, value with the vicarage* of Doulting and the curacy of East Cranmore, £640, in the patronage of Colonel Homer. The church, an ancient structure, dedicated to St. Bartholomew, contains tombs of the Chethams, of Southill House, who have long held the manor."
