CHIDDINGFOLD

"CHIDDINGFOLD, a parish in the second division of the hundred of Godalming, in the county of Surrey, 4 miles E. of Haslemere, and 2 S. of the Witley station of the London and Portsmouth (direct) line. Godalming is its post town.

The living is a rectory* in the diocese of Winchester, value with the curacy of Haslemere annexed, £522, in the patronage of the bishop. The church is dedicated to St. Mary. There is a charity of £25 per annum, which is delivered in bread to the poor on Easter Monday. There are National schools for boys and girls."
